With 1300 seats, the Theatre Royal is the largest venue in Norfolk, and plays a very active part in the cultural life of the region.Norwich Playhouse is a 300-seat riverside venue in Norwich and, like Theatre
Royal, also presents a diverse range of shows at the mid-scale. Stage Two is the newest member of the Theatre Royal family and is a building immediately adjacent to Theatre Royal that is dedicated to Learning & Participation and home to studio and training spaces as well as a 100 seat Studio Theatre.


Job Description

A few responsibilities within the role:

Fundraising Activities and Administration

  • Ensuring website’s fundraising pages are current and assisting with online giving campaigns.
  • Assisting with the preparation of new fundraising materials and campaigns.
  • Preparing funding applications to funding bodies.
  • Helping to run funding campaigns.
  • Helping distribute reports to funders.

Managing Donations

  • Managing the use of the fundraising database, including capturing and updating donor and key contact details, acknowledgement in all forms, producing invitation lists and more.
  • Administering the Development Department Donor Membership Schemes including Daily online donations, Naming Schemes (such as seats), Regular Giving such as NTR Ambassadors, Major Donors, Sponsorship, Corporate club and relevant Gift Aid scheme.

Arranging and supporting visits and events

  • Event administration and organisation, supporting the Development Director.
  • Helping with donor/stakeholder visits.

Organisational wide responsibilities

  • To foster a positive and proactive environment working with all departments to achieve the best experience possible for theatre goers,visitors, participants, cast and staff
  • To maximise the opportunities for inclusion throughout the theatre’s activities
  • To actively support the theatre’s ambitions to reduce its impact on the environment

Job Specification

Skills and qualifications

  • Sound administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accurate, methodical and numerate – good attention to detail
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook and Powerpoint.
  • Confident user of Excel and Outlook to manage and manipulate contact data
  • Basic knowledge of CRM software or fundraising management software, desirable – but full training will be given
  • Fundraising qualification or commitment to achieving one
