Sonia Friedman Productions (SFP) is one of the West End’s most prolific and significant theatre producers, responsible for some of the most successful theatre productions in London and Broadway over the past few years. Since 1990, SFP has won a staggering 48 Olivier Awards including nine for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the most awards ever received by a single production in Oliviers’ history. In 2018, the inspirational Sonia Friedman OBE was featured in TIME100, Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2018.

The team at SFP are seeking a highly efficient, dedicated Executive Assistant to provide key support to Sonia Friedman and ensure the smooth and organised running of all aspects of Sonia Friedman’s office on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be confident and flexible, as well as having a mature attitude to the meet the many demands of this extremely busy office.

This role would suit a highly organised individual with a passion for theatre and significant knowledge of the industry, who is looking to gain essential administrative experience within a very fast-paced environment.


  • Ensuring the smooth and organised running of all aspects of Sonia Friedman’s office on a daily basis including diary and contact management, travel and accommodation arrangements, IT needs, personal correspondence and filing
  • Proactively managing Sonia’s time with regular catch-up meetings to review and update on diary commitments
  • Provide marketing support including proofing materials, and liaising with press and marketing representatives on Sonia’s behalf
  • Line managing the Office Assistant and working with the Office Administrator to ensure Sonia’s needs and those of the office are consistently met
  • Liaising with directors, agents, actors, creatives, and production staff on Sonia’s behalf, attending production and marketing meetings, technical rehearsals, previews and performances as required
  • Taking minutes for meetings on Sonia’s behalf
  • Preparing documents, letters, emails and reports, under Sonia’s guidance, on Sonia’s behalf
  • Taking dictations, as required
  • Fulfilling any other task as reasonably delegated
  • Carrying out personal ad hoc tasks for Sonia and her family (including her two dogs, Teddy and Buddy)


  • Have a genuine and keen interest in theatre with a basic theatre vocabulary and knowledge of the industry
  • Have previous secretarial/PA experience
  • Have a desire to thrive within a very fast-paced environment
  • Have excellent literacy, numeracy and computer skills
  • Be highly organised and exceedingly calm under pressure
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be capable of dealing with senior colleagues and high profile associates confidently and with total discretion
  • Be willing to ‘do what it takes to get the job done’
  • Be able to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines
  • Offer maximum flexibility over office hours
  • Ideally a lover of dogs
