A Mental Health service for the Music Community

For Mental Health Awareness Week (14th – 20th May), we shared a list of a few well-known people in the creative industries who have shared their own mental health stories. Now we look at some of the places you can find support if you need it.

Music Minds Matter

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Music Minds Matter is a support line and service for the whole UK music community.

Launched in December 2017, Music Minds Matter links advice and services to musicians in need.

If you call Music Minds Matters, you’ll speak to a trained advisor who appreciates what some of the challenges of working in the music industry can be.

You can receive emotional support, information, guidance and can be directed to other services that might be helpful. If you want someone to talk to, get in touch, anytime. They’re there to help.

You can reach Music Minds Matter by emailing, MMM@helpmusicians.org.uk (please note a 48-hour turnaround) or call 0808 802 8008.

Support for Young People

If Music Minds Matters isn’t relevant for you, there are loads of great, free resources and services provided by Mind, Young Minds, Samaritans, Rethink Mental Illness, Kooth and more.
