We’ve been working with young people across the UK to unleash their potential and develop their talent. We’ll be highlighting some of the successful journeys of our Music Potential Graduates. Here’s Sean’s Music Potential Experience…
Before I started Music Potential, I was self employed and provided sound and lighting equipment to events across the UK. I wanted to progress into other things and I wasn’t earning enough money to sustain the business. It also took up a lot of my time.
I was given a flyer at a youth club by a youth worker and decided to give it a go as I thought it would help me fine tune my skills in a productive way.
When I went to Bootcamp, I felt a bit nervous as I didn’t know anyone but the atmosphere was very inviting and warm and I started to talk with others. During MPX, we bonded really quickly and we still speak to each other, even after the course.
I DJ in my spare time, and the course showed me different aspects of the business, how I can manage my time and how to release singles.
I learned about the marketing & public relations side of the business and my professionalism has increased. It gave me insight into the industry that I didn’t know before.
Music Potential gave me the boost I needed and the motivation to pursue a career in teaching and offered me the chance to have a mentor for my tutor course.
I’m currently working towards a certificate in Education & Training Level 4, This will help me towards my goal of tutoring creative skills and entrepreneurship.
My goal is to gain funding that I could reinvest in young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and get them motivated, like I was by Music Potential.
