Sweepy Dee’s Music Potential Experience

Find out how Music Potential helped Sweepy Dee create his own social enterprise!

We’ve been working with young people across the UK to unleash their potential and develop their talent. We’ll be highlighting some of the successful journeys of our Music Potential Graduates. Here’s Sweepy Dee’s Music Potential Experience…

Before MPX

Before Music Potential, I was mainly focusing on creating and recording music, but I had problems with censoring it from a lyrical perspective.

During MPX

During Music Potential, I was able to learn how to censor my music. I also began to understand the importance of the business side of the music industry, which has helped me to create a social enterprise. Now I know exactly what I need to do and who to contact which has definitely helped out a lot.

After MPX

I’ve done a lot of performing and I’m now looking to elevate mine, plus other people’s music to a professional-standard. I’ve also started up a social enterprise called Amplify. The aim is to help develop up-and-coming artists aged 13-17. We offer workshops to these artists and provide them with important skills. We then hold an event in December to celebrate these young people. This was influenced by my Music Potential experience. I also want to get the Manchester group from Music Potential involved in my social enterprise event. It makes a difference when everybody is chipping in and helping out.

Inspired? Music Potential is back! We are opening our doors to aspiring creatives from Birmingham, Belfast and London. If you want to gain experience and get your foot in the door, make sure you register today!
